Waylon returns to the theaters with ‘Unplugged & Unreal’

When Waylon performed a Johnny Cash song in ’De Wereld Draait Door’, completely unplugged, it inspired the producers of that popular TV-show to start the ‘Recordings’, where artists perform their favorite songs acoustically. That immediately turned into one of the favorite segments of the show. Waylon will take this concept one step further when touring theatrical stages this up-coming season: Together with his band he’ll perform his own songs unplugged, with a twist, offering his audience a true music adventure.
Waylon’s first show at the theatrical stages across Holland dealt with the music that inspired him and the dreams a young artist pursues. In his new show, called ‘Unplugged & Unreal’ he will show his audience how his music evolves and what new insights his success has brought him. Because success has its downside: Fame. “Making music is my job, and I take my job seriously. But being famous, that’s not a job”, says Waylon. “The underlying theme of ‘Unplugged & Unreal’ is dealing with fame. I don’t care for it. I don’t do this to see my face in the magazines or have fans chasing after me. I do this because I love making music.”
And that’s what it’s all about: In ‘Unplugged & Unreal’ Waylon and his band thoroughly enjoy making music. “We’ll see where the music takes us”, he says. “Because when we do what love doing most, there’ll be no stopping us!” And while doing so, Waylon will offer his insights about fortune and fame…
